Erotic is in the gaze of the watcher. That which is eroticized can tend not to give permission to be erotic, especially because as sexual beings everything can be erotic at any time. This project explores this assumption in an interactive shadow-room installation. Audience members will interchange roles as erotic ‘art’ spectacles as they enter the room. However the ‘art’ which they interact with is not erotic necessarily but it is the audience on the outside of the room who agrees that the interactive performances inside the room are. We will be showing that the mundane and ordinary can be erotic without permission, agreement, effort or even awareness by means of the shadow room. - Amma
